Austin FC Academy Recap — December 5-7, 2025

VIVERO CUP

The U-12s made history in the first-ever Vivero Cup, held from December 5-7 at St. David's Performance Center. In the final, Austin secured a 2-0 win against Rayados Pflugerville, scoring twice late in the second half to lift the trophy and claim the inaugural title. It marks the first edition of this new competition within the Academy pathway, and the U-12s set the standard in year one.

MLS NEXT Fest

Academy play continues at MLS NEXT Fest, where the U-18, U-16, and U-15 teams are representing Austin on one of the biggest youth stages of the year. The U-18s opened with a 2-2 draw against FC Cincinnati, followed by two decisive wins: A 4-2 result against Sporting Kansas city and a 4-1 performance against FC Montreal to cap off a strong showing with ten goals scored across three matches.

The U-16s began with a 3-2 win over Minnesota and remain in competition with two more matches on deck, first against Chicago Fire on Monday, December 8, followed by NYCFC on Tuesday, December 9.

The U-15s have yet to kick off their schedule; they will open against St. Louis City SC on Wednesday, December 10, meet Philadelphia Union on Thursday, December 11, and close out against FC Cincinnati on Saturday, December 13.

ARBOLITO CUP

While Vivero Cup has officially wrapped, the month of December continues with another major event returning to Austin. From December 12-14, the fifth edition of the Arbolito Cup will be hosted at St. David's Performance Center, bringing together top U-13 and U-14 teams from around the country.

Austin FC's U-14s will face opponents from Chicago, Miami, St. Louis, and Cincinnati, while the U-13s will compete against Cincinnati, Houston, Chicago, and Orlando in the group stage.
