For more than four decades, Sylvia Orozco has been a driving force in Austin’s cultural landscape, creating a space where Mexican and Latin American art can thrive.

As co-founder and Executive Director of Mexic-Arte Museum, Sylvia has dedicated her life to preserving heritage, celebrating creativity, and opening doors for new generations of artists. Through exhibitions, education, and community traditions like the city’s largest Día de los Muertos celebration, she has shaped a space that belongs to Austin—and to the world.
